Diváci ho mají především za představitele hlavních hrdinů rodinných komedií sršících prvoplánovým humorem, ve kterých hraje a některé i produkuje. První vážnější roli si zkusil ve filmu Opilí láskou režiséra Paula Thomase Andersona z roku 2002.
